About the Tintal Theka

The tintal theka is performed in a wide range of tempos (lay) and musical styles. At slow tempos (vilambit lay), there are many embellishments made to the theka. At medium tempos (madhyalay), there are also embillishments, but usually less. And at fast tempos (drut lay), the theka is usually played with the least embellishments, as in the demonstration below.
