About the Dadra Tal theka

Below is the standard dadra theka, most commonly taught in the classical tradition. But like the kaharawa tal theka, there are many variations performed in different lineages, or according to region or music genre. See the next section for examples of dadra theka variations.

Note: In the demonstration below, the bols dhin / धिं and tin / तिं are played on the low/sur, as in the tintal theka. But they are also commonly played open on the syahi.
