Tintal – Beginner Peshkar 1 (Kayda Peshkar) Overview
As the name suggests, a kayda-peshkar is a kayda made from peshkar-type bols. If you are new to peshkar, this composition is a good place to start. It introduces basic peshkar bols and movements which are technically easy to play, but which should give players and listeners a good introduction to the kinds of phrases, gaps, and off-beat movements that are typical of peshkar.
Because it is a kayda-peshkar, the variations are more systematic and do not introduce bols (phrases) which are not found in the theme. Variations also regularly include the theme, or part of it.
Note that there may be little difference between this kayda-peshkar and a simple Dilli-style Peshkar composed for students. I have other simple peshkars from Chhotelal which are essentially the same as this kayda-peshkar. But Chhotelal did call this a kayda-peshkar, and so I keep that title here.
Bols for Kayda-Peshkar 1
The bols in this composition are all played Dilli style and are demonstrated in the following Dilli Beginner Kaydas:
